Un camino

Parece que pintar árboles es fácil, pero no lo es para mi. Creo que esta pintura parece que se ha hecho de manera suelta, para conseguirlo elegí cuidadosamente las pinceladas y los colores, unos son cálidos, otros fríos y alguno helado. Agotado, después de este pensamiento tan profundo, decidí irme a pasar varias semanas a Galicia, hasta que me aburra o me quede sin dinero. Cualquiera de las dos cosas. Seguramente, será la segunda.
Desde Galicia no podré enviar ninguna pintura. Espero pintar y enseñarlo a la vuelta.

It seems that to paint trees is easy, but to me not it is. I think this painting looks like it was made loosely, to get it I chose carefully my brushstrokes and colors, some are warm, others cold and someone frozen. Wasted, after this thinking so deep, I decided will go to spend several weeks in Galicia on next friday, until I get bored or run out of money. Any of this two things. Probably it'll be the second one.
From Galicia I won't be able to post any painting in my Blog in any case I hope to paint some days and show it when I go back.

Chopos

Este paisaje es otro que pinté fuera. Los arboles son chopos excepto el e la derecha del cuadro que es un pino un poco seco. Esta vez pude pintar sin perros ni mirones, ahora cuando miro a mi pintura me estoy empezando a preocupar, comienza a gustarme. ¿Será malo eso?, Ja,Ja..,espero que no.

This is other landscape that I painted outside. Those trees are black poplars except on the right of the painting which is a pine a bit dry. This time, I could paint without dogs and neither watchers, now when I look at my painting I'm begining to feel something worried, it begins to like to me. Can it be bad?,He,He.., I hope not.

Mas encinas

Por fin conseguí pintar al aire libre estas encinas. Había muchas mujeres con sus perros paseándolos, pero afortunadamente, ninguno me mordió. Ni ellas tampoco. Los colores que se ven en la pintura, ocres y verdes fueron los que vi

At last I painted plein air these ilex. There were many women walking with theirs dogs but none tried, of biting me, luckily, nor they either. Those colors ochre and green in the painting were those I saw.

Horno

Este horno se utiliza en Galicia para cocer el barro de alfarería. En la parte superior hay una olla aunque aquí casi no se ve. En este lugar de Galicia las ollas son de un color negro, un color bastante extraño para unas ollas, en ellas a veces se quema aguardiente y se invocan conjuros. Espero que otro día pueda mostrar una escena sobre ello.

This is an oven used in Galicia to make earthware pots. At the top of the oven there is one of them, although here almost it's not possible see. In this place of Galicia the pots are black, a color strange for pots, into of them sometimes it is burned liquor and is invoked incantations. I hope at in other day I'll show you a scene about it.

Piña

La piña me pareció que era bastante difícil de pintar, o por lo menos es lo que pensé, pero finalmente lo conseguí. Aunque creo que hubiera quedado mejor si lo hubiera hecho mas suelto, como hago con los paisajes. Ese será mi próximo objetivo.
Soy seguidor de Hilo Coqueto un blog sobre ganchillo y otras labores de señoras, pero puedo prometer y prometo que no tengo ningún interés en ganchillo ni en otras labores. Pero es un blog de mi hija y pensé que alguna señora le podía interesar.

The pineaple seemed to me that was quite dificult in order to paint, or al least I thought so, but finally I can make it. Though I think this painting would be better if I had painted looser as I do with landscapes. Mi next objetive will be get it.
I'm follower from " Hilo Coqueto" a blog about crochet and other women's work, but I can promise and promise that I don't have neither interst on crocheting nor on needlework. But is a blog of one daugther and I thought some woman may be interested.

Faro

Pinte este faro bastante canijo contra una ola, a pesar de que podría sobrevivir estaba bastante asustado, lo mismo que yo, sin saber si seria capaz de terminar la acuarela. Esta es la número 31 y todavía me quedan 169. Nadie se lo cree, ni yo.

I painted this tiny lighthouse fighting against a wave, despite of it could survive was enough frightened, like me, without know if I would be able to finish the watercolor. This one is number 31 and 169 are need making yet in this year. Noone can belive it either myself.

Dos encinas

Aunque no lo parezcan son dos encinas. Una esta en el sol y floreciendo mientras que la otra es casi un arbusto. Hace unos meses pinte varias al aire libre, pero ahora tengo que esperar a que mejore el tiempo. Mientras pintaré lo que pueda. Probablemente algunas flores del jardín, o por lo menos eso espero.

They are two ilex even though don't seem themselves. One of them are in the sun and blooming, whereas the other is almost a shrub. Some months ago I painted several ilex "plain air", now I'm waiting for better wether, meanwhile I'll paint what I can. I'll paint probably some flowers from my garden, I hope so.

Bailaora

Terminó la Feria de Sevilla en Abril y las "bailaoras" dejaron ahora de mover sus faldas, excepto esta que he pintado.

The Seville Fair finished in April and " las bailaoras", the dancers don't move theirs skirts now, except this one that I painted.

Debajo del árbol

Tenía la intención de pintar fuera de casa pero hace bastante frío y hay vientos de 80 Kms/hora, según el Servicio Meteorológico, y todavía no consigo pintar volando por el aire. La semana pasada hice 40 fotos cerca de casa y mientras paseaba pude ver algunos sitios interesantes para pintar. Si no puedo salir pintaré encinas hay un montón y ahora tienen unos colores ocres y verdes a pesar, que verdaderamente no hay ninguna con el mismo color.
Mientras tanto en esta pintura lo que quería era mostrar el crecimiento anárquico de la hierba y un árbol extraño a contraluz

My intention was to paint out of home, but the wether is too cold and there is winds on 80 Kms/h., according to Service Meteorological, and I'm not used to paint flying in the air yet. Last week I took 40 photos not too far away to my house, while I was walking around I could see some places from which had interesting paintings to do. If I can't get out I'll paint some ilex, there are a lot of them and now they have colors ochre and green, although there isn't any with the same color certainly.
Meanwhile, in this painting what I wanted was to display the grass anarchic growing and a strange tree against the light.

Rápidos

Estos rápidos estan inspirados en fotos tomadas por Esmeralda Ramos. En realidad no corresponde a ninguna en particular, pero contiene muchos aspectos de ellas. Algunas veces las he estado usando en mi blog en otras fechas.

These river rapids are inspirated from several pictures taken by Esmeralda Ramos. In fact, It doesn't correspond to any in particular but contains many differents aspects from them. Some times, I've been using hers pictures in my blog in other dates.

Lilas

He cogido estas lilas de mi jardín para pintarlas y espero pintar mas flores en esta primavera. He estado pintando muchos bodegones y varios paisajes, ahora mi interés esta en la pintura al aire libre y las acuarelas. Es hora de cambiar.

I caught this lilacs from my garden to paint them and I hope to paint more flowers in this season. I've been painting a lot of still lifes and several landscapes, now my interested is in painting "plain air" and watercolors. It's time of changing.

Debajo del puente

He pintado mi acuarela número 22, pero tengo que seguir practicando para alcanzar mi objetivo. Las acuarelas tienen un problema si las dejas durante mucho tiempo, se pierde práctica rápidamente. El recuperarla es una cuestión de tiempo así que es necesario trabajar muy a menudo si se desea conseguirla.
Intenté hacer un efecto de luz en el lado derecho del puente. La próxima vez quedará mejor.

I painted my watercolor number 22th, but I've to go on practising until get my goal. The watercolors have one problem, if you abandon them of doing during long time , you will loose skill quickly. Recovering is a matter of time and therefore is necesary to work very often if you want to get it.
I attempted to do an effect of light on the bridge right hand. Next time will be better.

Bosque

Pinté este bosque a partir de una fotografía, así que los colores no son demasiado reales. Prefiero pintar al aire libre, pero el maldito cambio climático no me deja. Puse colores algo raros en la parte de sombra, tales como azul, y carmín sobre azul mediante una leve pincelada que tenia aceite y aguarrás. Este método lo uso frecuentemente en mis bodegones.
Debería hacer una acuarela la próxima vez, ya tengo ganas de hacer algo distinto.

I painted this forest of a picture so that the colors aren't too real. I prefer to paint outside but damn it! the climate change don't permit me to do it. I put uncommon colors at the shadow side such as blue, and carmine on blue by a slight brushstroke wich had oil and turpentine. I'm used to use this method very frecuently on my still lifes.
I should do a watercolor next time, already I feel like doing another different painting.

Pimientos y puerros

Ayer, estuve esperando una hora para conseguir entrar en la exposición de los impresionistas, creo que merece la pena. Para los que no puedan pueden verla en virtual. Yo me sentía ansioso por comprobar si sus pinturas eran mejores que las mías y sorprendentemente lo eran, Ja,Ja, así que sin ninguna esperanza he estado pintando este bodegón un poco diferente, pimientos envueltos en plástico y puerros

Yesterday I had to be waiting for an hour to get into exhibition of impresionists, but I think it is worthwhile. For those that can't go there can watch this virtual one. I was very excited about checking if theirs paintings was better than mine and amazingly they were,He, He, so that, without any hope, I have been painting a still life a bit different, pepers with wrap up plastic and leeks.

Marbella

Esta es la playa de Marbella. Hace tiempo en el paseo marítimo había un montón de flores, ahora sólo arbustos. He estado yendo a Marbella durante varios años y lo mismo que antes hay muchos restaurantes, bares y tiendas de decoración y por supuesto, extranjeros. Creo que los del lugar van a los restaurantes todos los días y luego salen corriendo a comprar muebles y de nuevo al restaurante o algo parecido.

This is the beach of Marbella. Some time ago, in the promenade there was a lot of flowers but now only shrubs, I have been going to Marbella for many years and now, like before, there are a lot of restaurants, bars and decorating interior shops and of course, foreigners. I think the natives are going at the restaurants every day and then break into a run to buy forniture and again at the restaurant or something like this.

Mas ciruelas y naranja

Iré a Andalucia a pasar una semana y no podré poner nuevas pinturas. Espero que cualquiera pueda ver tres ciruelas y una naranja. Traté de poder pintar los reflejos entre las frutas mismas y la porcelana. ¿ Los ha visto alguien?

I'll go to Andalusia for a week and won't be able to post new paintings. I hope everyone can see three plums and one orange. I tried be capable of painting the reflections between fruit themselves and potery. Does someone see them?

Ciruelas

Era el momento de pintar un bodegon. Elegí tres ciruelas con diferentes colores, una era roja y carmín y las otras violetas con matices azules. Espero que se perciban.

It was just time of painting a still life. I chose three plums with different colors, one of them was red and carmine and violet with bluish hues the other ones. I hope can be watched.

Puerto de pesca

Este es un puerto pesquero cuyos barcas necesitan reparación, algunas parece como si estuvieran abandonadas, cada vez hay menos barcos de pesca. No se si es porque no hay peces o porque los pescadores no ganan bastante dinero. Tal vez las dos cosas.
Esta es la acuarela número 13. Mala suerte.

This is a fishing port whose boats need to be checked, some of them seem like they were abandoned, every time are less fishing boats I don't know if it's because there isn't fish or it can be that fishermen don't earn enough money. Perhaps both things.

Ría

Los fríos colores violetas del primer plano están bordeados por verdes azulados de los árboles. Las lineas de sembrado convergen hacia los verdes grisáceos de los prados situados delante de las casas. Los tonos fríos y pastel del medio plano se ven algo compensados por el color rojizo de los tejados sobre los que comienza a caer las luces de una típica mañana en Galicia. La imagen representa un inicio brumoso del día, con el fondo de la Ría en la que se insinúan las aldeas y pueblos que miran al mar. Esto es lo que he querido representar.

The cold violet colors from the foreground are fringed with bluish green trees. The sown field lines are going towards the green of the pastures in front of the houses. The cold hues and pastel shade in the middle ground are something compensated by the red roofs over wich are beggining to fall down the lights of one Galician tipical morning. The picture represents the awaking of one misty day with the stuary at end and where little villages are insinuated looking at the sea. This is what I wanted to show.

Los Tomillares

Fui con mi familia un magnifico lugar de vacaciones al norte de la Comunidad de Madrid, lo pasamos muy bien y comimos en un restaurante cerca de allí. Este lugar se llama " Los Tomillares ", supongo que es porque no hay tomillo, yo sólo vi romero. Hice varias fotos y este cuadro es una copia de una de ellas.

I went with my family to a holiday resort at north of Madrid region. It's a very beatiful place and we had a good time then we had a lunch at a restaurante near of there. This place is called "Los Tomillares", I suppose because there isn't any thyme, I only saw rosemary. I took several pictures and this painting is a copy of one of them.

Gallardias

Esta es mi acuarela número seis, sólo necesito pintar 194 mas. Estas flores son Gallardias una flor perenne que vive casi todo el verano. Volveré a pintarlas en verano.

This is my watercolor number six, only it's necessary to paint 194 more. These are gallardia one flower perennial which lives almost all summer. I'll paint again them in summer.

Santillana

Este es otra vez el pantano de Santillana en Madrid. Es una vista diferente de la del otro día. Cuando lo estaba pintando me acorde que hace unos doce años pintaba cuadros de mas de un metro de ancho, unos años mas tarde la mitad y ahora de veinte centímetros. ¿ Porque sucede esto?. No lo se, por lo tanto se lo preguntaré a mi psiquiatra.

This is again Santillana, a artficial lake in Madrid. It's a different view of the other day. When I was painted it I remembered that twelve years ago my paintings were more than three feet wide, one years later only a half and now eight inch. Why is it happening that?. I don't know, hence I'll ask about it to my psychiatrist.

Este soy yo

Le dije a Kathy, que pinta unas estupendas acuarelas, que quería pintar doscientas en este año. Reconozco que es un objetivo ambicioso, pero si no lo es no funciona. Esta es mi acuarela número tres como puede verse en la parte inferior debajo de mi firma. No todas las acuarelas que ponga tendrán números seguidos, pero estarán de acuerdo con el numero de las que he estado pintando.
Yo soy ese tío. Puse una leve sonrisa a lo "Gicondo" y cara de velocidad, gracias a eso parezco un año mas joven

I said to Kathy, who paints a lot of splendid watercolors, that I want to paint a hundred of them in this year. I recognize It is an ambitious objetive but has to be or it does not work. This is my watercolor number three, as you can see at the bottom, below my signature. Not all watercolors that I'll post they will have the correlative numbers, but It is according with the numbers of watercolors I've been painting.
I am this guy. I put a slight smile as the "Gicondo" and velocity face. It helped my
aspect and I look like a year younger.

Peras

Finalmente, no iré a Andalucia. Es mas barato ver llover en casa que en el hotel. Tengo que esperar al buen tiempo, mientras tanto seguiré pintando. Hice estas peras porque era lo mas fácil de pensar que cualquier otra cosa. Soy un vago, ahora resulta mas difícil elegir un tema que hacerlo, o casi, por lo tanto mañana descansaré.

Finally, I won't go to Andalusia. It's more cheap to see at home how it's raining than in a hotel. I need to wait for good wether, so while I'll go on with my paintings. I painted those pears, because it was more easy to me than thinking any other things. I'm a lazy, now it begins being more dificult to choose a theme than do it, or almost, therefore I will rest tomorrow.

Pantano

Os prometí pintar una acuarela y aquí está. Este pantano es algo difícil de reconocer. El que quiera puede hacerlo.

I promised you to paint a watercolor and here it is. This is a artificial lake and a bit dificult to recognise. If someone wants it to guess, he can do it.

Ruinas

Tuve que ir de viaje repentinamente al norte de España con un tiempo lluvioso y frío varios días. Casi no he pintado este mes y la próxima semana espero irme a Andalucia, así que estoy olvidando pintar. Hoy decidí pintar un paisaje copiado de una foto tomada por Esmeralda y mañana me gustaría pintar una acuarela, pero tampoco es seguro.

I've had to go by car suddenly at north of Spain some days with a cold wether and raining all time. This month I didn't paint almost and next week I'll go to Andalusia, hope so, hence I'm forgetting paint. Today I decided copy a landscape of a photo taken by Esmeralda and tomorrow I would like to paint a watercolor, but there is nothing sure.

Tarro y naranja

Hoy toca bodegón. Aunque no pongo post todos los días sigo pintando, lo que ocurre es que no se pueden ver porque acaban en la papelera. Estoy intentando pintar algún paisaje en acuarela, pero he perdido práctica, si es que alguna vez la tuve. Pero hay que seguir divirtiéndose.

Today is a still life. I tried to paint some watercolors but they are into the wastepaper basket. I need to practise more to recover a bit of hability. Nevertheless I'm going to enjoy without feel myself worried about.

Pueblo

No se si hay demasiadas cosas en el lienzo o si este es un poco pequeño. La próxima vez utilizaré una mas grande o no, cualquiera sabe. Es es un pueblo pequeño de Castilla seguramente casi abandonado con muy poca gente. Utilicé una imagen que tenia hace tiempo, no demasiado buena.

I don't know if there are too many things in the canvas or this one was a bit small. Next time I'll use a more big canvas, or not, anyone knows it. This is a little village in Castilla probably with very few people, almost abandoned, I made use of a picture not too good that I had time ago.

Uvas pero gorditas

Mi queridísima y sin embargo esposa, me compró unas uvas para pintar. Son casi tan grandes como ciruelas pequeñas y no me gusta demasiado pintarlas porque es algo complicado. Vienen de Perú y supongo que los niños no pueden tomarlas debido a su tamaño. Probablemente toman las de España.. Je, Je.

My lovely, but nevertheless wife bought me those grapes to paint. They are almost so big as small plums and I don't like too much to paint them because it has some difficult. They came from Perú and I suppose children can't eat them due its size. Probably they eat grapes from Spain... He, He.

Cascada pero pequeñita

Quería mostrar los efectos de luz y la armonía de colores, pero no estoy muy seguro. Me concentraré en hacerlo mejor la próxima vez. Yo creo que la armonía de colores es un tema que depende de muchas cosas, hay varias reglas pero seguramente el instinto es la mejor.

My interest in this painting was to show light effects and getting harmony of colors, but this one I'm not secure of it. I'll concentrate on doing it better next time. I think harmony in colors is a matter depending on many things, there are some rules but probably instinct can be best.

Embarcadero

Es un embarcadero y la prueba es que hay barcas.

It's a dock, the proof is that there are small boats.

Berenjena y tomate

Aunque esta pintura ha quedado demasiado realista para mi gusto, eso es una cosa que no puedo evitar facilmente. El único modo es no utilizar demasiadas pinceladas, pero finalmente acabo poniendo demasidas así que mañana será otro día.

Although this painting is too realistic for my like, that is a thing I can't avoid easily. The only way not to do that is using less brushstrokes and I always try getting it, but finally I've finished putting too many. Tomorrow will be another day.

Laguna en el Parque Natural de los Alcornocales

Pinté este estanque a partir de una foto tomada por Esmeralda Ramos. Tiene muchas en su blog sobre la Naturaleza. El paisaje pertenece al " Parque Natural de los Alcornocales " al sur de España en Andalucia. Creo que mi paisaje no representa muy bien la realidad. Mejor ir allí.

I painted this pond using as reference a photo taken by Esmeralda Ramos. She has plenty of them in her blog about Nature. This landscape is in the " Parque Natural de los Alcornocales " at south of Spain in Andalusia. I think my lanscape is only a poor representation to reality. Better go there.

Retrato de desconocido

Sorprendentemente he pintado esta acuarela de un señor desconocido en vez de mis manzanas de siempre. Necesito hacer mas acuarelas y paisajes - esto lo digo siempre - pero no tengo lienzos así que debo preparar algunos otros mas.
Cuando pinto paisajes utilizando fotos no me gustan los resultados, porque pongo normalmente demasiados detalles. Se que es necesario simplificar para conseguir unos resultados mas acordes y puede parecer facil dejar algunos de los detalles fotograficos, sin embargo cualquiera puede sentir que necesita poner mas y mas detalles hasta conseguir finalmente una mala imagen. Ahora está nevando o lloviendo todos los días asi que es bastante dificil salir a pintar. Tengo que usar imagenes para mis paisajes y me siento un poco frustado.

Surprisingly I painted this watercolor of an unknown man instead of my usual apples. I need to try doing more watercolors and landscapes - I always say same things - but now I don't have any canvas , so I ought to prepare some other more.
When I paint landscapes using pictures I'm disappointed with the results, because I usually accustom to put on my paintings too many details. I know that It's neccesary to simplify for getting more realistic results and It could seem easy to leave off some photographic details, nevertheless anyone can feel that he needs adding more and more and finally, you get only a very bad picture. Now is snowing or raining every day, so is quite hard to go out to paint. I have to use pictures for my lanscapes so that I feel a bit frustrated.

Montaña

La montaña del fondo tiene el mismo nombre que la calle donde vivo. Hace mucho tiempo la subí, sin nieve, con otros montañeros universitarios encabezados por el Padre Pablo, un sacerdote dominico. Bastantes años después, mis hijos fueron casualmente al colegio donde el Padre Pablo enseñaba religión. ¡ El mundo es un pañuelo !

The mountain's name at the background is same as my street where I live. Time ago I climbed there without snow, with others university mountaineers headed by Father Pablo, a Dominican priest. Many years later, my kids attended, by chance, at school where Father Pablo taught religion. Small world !
